Burglary Resistant Windows & Glass

5/6 Inch Burglary Glass

Burglary Resistant Glass Burglary Resistant Glass

Introduction

Burglary-Resistant Glass typically breaks safely and remains an integral part of the opening.  The polymer interlayer minimizes shards and glass fragments, reducing the risk of personal injury or property damage.  The external envelope of the building remains intact, and therefore boarding up may not be necessary.  This can be important during natural disasters such as hurricanes, tornadoes, and earthquakes.  Burglaries can be thwarted by Burglary-Resistant Glass because it is difficult to gain access or remove property, even if a puncture is made in the polymer interlayer.

Description

Burglary-Resistant Glass is manufactured by permanently bonding multiple lites of clear, tinted, Low-E, or patterned glass with one or more layers of a polymer interlayer.

SafeZone uses one or more strong polyester interlayers to create this tough durable bond.  Our polyester interlayers are specially formulated to be stronger and tougher than PVB.  Polyvinyl butyral is commonly used in automotive windshields and tears more easily than the stronger polyester formulation used in our Burglary-Resistant Glass.

Manufacturing takes place in a clean room environment.  Technicians wear lint-free gloves to ensure no contaminants are trapped in the product.  Interlayer resins are thoroughly degassed under a full vacuum.  The result is a single solid construction.

SafeZone maintains a state of the art Environmentally Friendly Green Manufacturing Facility.  The strong polyester interlayers are fully cured using ultraviolet light.  The old-style heat and pressure energy wasting autoclave process has been eliminated.

Our new manufacturing facility contains all new production equipment.  It is staffed by skilled professionals who have a total commitment to quality.

SafeZone manufactures eleven types of Burglary-Resistant Glass.  They are listed in the table below.
